Police in Grand Rapids, Mich. say a shooting during a party at a strip mall early Sunday killed one person and wounded eight others.

Police spokesman Sgt. Terry Dixon told Fox News that officers were notified at 3:45 a.m. local time that a party was taking place at the mall. Officers were notified of the shooting while en route to the facility.

Around 60 people were at the party when the shooting unfolded, police told WOOD-TV.

Authorities had not released any information about the victims or any possible suspects. The conditions of the injured victims were not immediately known.

"We’re currently trying to figure out exactly what took place,” said Grand Rapids Police Sgt. Terry Dixon. “We’re very early on into this incident."
