Authorities in South Carolina say two men are missing in the waters of Lake Moultrie after eight people were tossed into the lake in a weekend accident.

Capt. Robert McCullough of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources says the people were in a boat which made a sharp turn about 8 p.m. Saturday, tossing the occupants into the water.

Six people were rescued on Saturday night by a second vessel.

Searchers including divers and helicopters searched Sunday for the missing men, ages 47 and 51. McCullough said late Sunday that the two are presumed drowned. Their names have not been released.

The boat captain is charged with boating under the influence.
