A judge in Fayetteville has sentenced a man to up to 20 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in the 2013 shooting death of a Navy veteran.

The Fayetteville Observer reports (http://bit.ly/1TeywC6 ) that 23-year-old Kourtney Reed entered the plea Thursday to charges of second-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy and kidnapping.

Reed was charged in the Sept. 2013 kidnapping and shooting death of 27-year-old Errol Williams, a Navy vet.

Police say Williams was kidnapped at gunpoint from a convenience store, forced to drive to another location and shot as he tried to escape. Reed was later found in a home in St. Pauls and fell through the ceiling trying to hide from officers.

Two other men are charged in Williams' death and both face the death penalty if convicted.
