Officials say the former student ethics director at Indiana University won't face charges in Texas for an alleged sexual assault that prompted him to resign in February.

The Fort Worth Police Department had investigated a woman's allegations that Jason Casares sexually assaulted her at a December education conference.

Fort Worth police spokesman Officer Daniel Segura said Thursday the department's "investigation confirmed that the elements for a criminal case against Mr. Casares do not exist and as such no criminal charges will be filed."

Casares says he's now focusing on his family, finding full-time employment "and recovering my reputation with clear findings and results in hand," including a separate inquiry that could not substantiate the woman's allegations.

The woman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
