State police say a man has been charged with the hit-and-run death of a 12-year-old girl who was riding her bicycle along a northern Pennsylvania road

Twenty-four-year-old Devon Greeley is charged in Tioga County with accidents involving death, vehicular homicide, and evidence-tampering.

State police said the girl was struck by a sport utility vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday on Route 287 in Morris Township near the New York state line. Police said the vehicle fled the scene.

Greeley was arraigned before a district justice and sent to the county prison in lieu of $650,000 bail.

Court documents indicated that he requested representation by the county public defender's office, which didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday evening; a listed number for him couldn't be found.
