Prosecutors have indicted a prominent former New York City emergency room doctor with sexually assaulting two more women he treated.

An indictment announced Thursday says David Newman victimized three women on separate occasions at Mount Sinai Hospital last August, September and October and a fourth woman in January.

The 45-year-old physician has pleaded not guilty. His attorney hasn't returned a request for comment on the charges. A Mount Sinai representative says Newman is no longer employed there.

In a civil lawsuit, a woman alleges that Newman injected her with morphine and masturbated on her while treating her in January.

Newman is the author of a book on the patient-doctor relationship. In an online biography he claims to be a major in the U.S. Army Reserve who served in Iraq.
