LEXINGTON, S.C. – South Carolina authorities are looking for five children who have been missing for a week and are believed to have been harmed.
Lexington County deputies said in a news release the children were last seen with their father, who was detained Saturday in another state on unrelated charges.
The children, ages 1 to 8, were not with him. The sheriff's office has not released the name of the father, details of his arrest, of where officials are looking for the children.
Deputies say the man's ex-wife reported her children missing on Sept. 3 when she could not contact her ex-husband. She told investigators there were other times she hadn't been able to contact him and the children turned up safe.
Detectives say they suspect foul play.
