Piece of Plane Falls Off During Florida-Bound Flight

A piece of a Jet Blue plane fell off while the jet was in the air, MyFoxNY reported.

The portion of the plane, which appeared to be an engine cover, was found Monday on the tarmac at Newark Liberty International Airport, the site reported.

Flight 507 was bound for Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., according to authorities. The plane returned moments after takeoff. Passengers were transferred to another plane.

A runway was shut down at approximately 6 a.m. local time.

No one was injured.
