It's clear UFC women's bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes and No. 1 contender Valentina Schevchenko are ready to settle their differences inside the Octagon. What's not so clear is exactly when that fight might take place.

Nunes made her first successful title defense this past December, as she KOed former champ Ronda Rousey in the first round of their main event bout at UFC 207.

The victory opened the door for Nunes to face off against Shevchenko, who would go on to beat Julianna Pena by submission in January for her second straight win.

When they'll fight, however, is still a mystery, and their back-and-forth on Twitter on Tuesday only clouded that picture.

The champ wants the fight to take place in June at UFC 212 in Rio:

I see you June 3? @BulletValentina

But Shevchenko isn't convinced since Nunes apparently turned down a fight with her in April:

UFC offered fight in Apr, you declined. Was told U would be back July. My schedule planned till July. Any where/anytime in July @Amanda_Leoa

According to Nunes, though, picking the date is her right as champion and the challenger needs to just accept what's given to them.

A challenger doesn't pick the day. The challenger is just supposed to fight. @BulletValentina

The bad blood between these two fights goes back to their original bout at UFC 196, where Nunes walked away with a unanimous decision victory. Not only that, but Nunes was awarded a title shot immediately after that win.

We know for a fact this rematch is happening in 2017. But the "when" still remains to be seen.
