UFC returning to Phoenix on Jan. 15

The UFC is returning to Phoenix on Jan. 15. The event will take place at Talking Stick Resort Arena and will air on FS1.

UFC Fight Night Phoenix will be the first UFC event in Phoenix since Dec. 13, 2014, when Junior Dos Santos won a thrilling five-round decision over current UFC heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic.

The main event has yet to be announced, but three fights have been confirmed for the Phoenix card: Heavyweight bouts featuring Cyril Asker (7-2) of Avignon, France, vs. Dmitri Smoliakov (8-1) of Kaliningrad City, Russia; and Viktor Pesta (10-3) of Prague, Czech Republic, vs. Damian Grabowski (20-4) of Opole, Poland; and a light heavyweight bout between Joachim Christensen (13-4) of Copenhagen, Denmark) vs. Bojan Mihalovic (10-4) of Odzaci, Serbia.

Tickets for UFC Fight Night Phoenix will go on sale later this month.
