Melvin Gordon's first season with the San Diego Chargers will end without an end zone trip.

The rookie running back's knee landed him on season-ending injured reserve on Monday, preserving a touchdown-less streak that dates back to Week 1.

The Chargers thought they were drafting a touchdown machine when they selected Gordon with their first-round pick this season. He scored 32 times in his final season with the Wisconsin Badgers.

He scored 32 fewer times in 2015. And it'll be 2016 before the ballcarrier gets a shot to cross the plane as a pro.
