Owners of the league's worst passing attack, the St. Louis Rams are holding auditions for possible reinforcements at wide receiver.

Veteran Wes Welker worked out for the Rams on Monday, according to multiple media reports, while Hakeem Nicks and Vincent Brown also will be brought in by St. Louis, per Adam Caplan of ESPN.

The Rams rank last in the NFL with an average of 187.3 passing yards per game and are the only team in the league under 200 yards. Quarterback Nick Foles has not thrown for 200 yards since Week 1.

Tavon Austin has a team-leading 28 receptions for St. Louis, nearly double the output of fellow wideout Kenny Britt (15), who had three catches for 87 yards in Sunday's loss at Minnesota after grabbing just one pass in the previous four weeks.

The 34-year-old Welker has 890 career receptions and surpassed 100 catches in five of his six seasons with the New England Patriots, but he dealt with concussions in each of his last two seasons with the Denver Broncos.

Nicks had a combined 18 touchdown catches in a two-year span with the New York Giants, but his productivity has diminished and he finished with 38 receptions for the Indianapolis Colts in 2014. Brown had a career-high 41 catches with San Diego in 2013 but was limited to 12 in seven games with Oakland last season.
