The New York Giants were expecting both tight end Larry Donnell and running back Orleans Darkwa to be a big part of their offense in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. Both players were forced from action in the early going and did not return.

On Tuesday, we finally got an update on both players after they underwent testing on Monday.

Donnell was carted off the field, but he has somehow managed to avoid serious injury. He is instead just dealing with what is being termed as a "sore neck". His status for Week 9 will be determined later this week.

Darkwa suffered what is being called a "badly bruised tailbone" on a play inside the Saints' red zone. Darkwa will not participate when the Giants return to practice on Wednesday, but he is hopeful that he can play in Week 9.
