Everyone got their hopes up for a split second when they saw New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz warming up at practice earlier this week, but he has yet to gain clearance from the team doctors to participate in practice.

Cruz will continue to be limited to individual drills, stretching and whatever else is not considered practicing.

"He's going to be out there, but he's not cleared to go," head coach Tom Coughlin said, per Tom Rock of Newsday.

Cruz had an MRI on Wednesday, and everyone was hoping that he would soon after be cleared for practice. That was not the case, as Coughlin confirmed to reporters.

"We all were," Coughlin said about the expectation of Cruz returning to practice. "But he still has a little bit of an injury there."
