Mike McCoy didn't want to sneak a peek when Josh Lambo lined up again.
He had just watched the rookie try a game-winner from 39-yards out. That didn't work out well.
So, McCoy told U-T San Diego's Tom Krasovic that superstition got the best of him -- and he looked away as Lambo beat the Cleveland Browns with a 34-yard boot.
"I had a little mirror," McCoy joked. "You've got to make adjustments on the sideline as the game goes along."
You'd be hard-pressed to find an NFL coach who isn't a little crazy like McCoy is. He probably won't watch any future clutch kicks -- it worked the first time.
