GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Coyotes trimmed their training camp roster to 26 by releasing defenseman Corey Potter and assigning four players -- left wing Henrik Samuelsson, right wing Jordan Szwarz and defensement Philip Samuelsson and Derek Smith -- to Springfield of the American Hockey League.

The final three roster cuts will likely come after Friday's preseason finale against San Jose at Gila River Arena.

Eighteen-year-old top draft pick Dylan Strome remains in the mix and was centering a line with Shane Doan and Tobias Rieder during Wednesday's practice. The Coyotes can audition Strome for up to nine games before it must decide whether to return him to junior hockey.
