The New York Jets have added to their depth at safety. According to Mike Garafolo, the Jets claimed safety Dion Bailey off waivers after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks over the weekend.

Bailey was waived from the Seahawks roster to make room for Kam Chancellor, who ended his holdout last week. Bailey played in two games for the Seahawks this season, including a start in the season opener agains the Rams. In his lone start, Bailey stumbled in coverage, allowing the game-tying touchdown which ultimately led to the Seahawks' first loss.

Marcus Gilchrist and Calvin Pryor are the starters for the Jets, as Bailey was likely brought in for depth. Bailey will join fellow safety Ronald Martin as a backup, whom they claimed before the start of the regular season.
