Ravens rookie wide receiver Breshad Perriman may be inching toward a return.
The No. 26 overall pick, who has been out with a knee injury since the first day of training camp, is progressing and expecting to be back on the field by October, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun.
Of course, timetables haven't meant much regarding Perriman's return, even leading head coach John Harbaugh to give up on having one. Based on how the Ravens struggled in the passing game in the season-opening loss in Denver, they could use Perriman's gamebreaking speed. Receivers Steve Smith, Marlon Brown and Kamar Aiken struggled to get separation against the Broncos secondary and the pressure was on Joe Flacco all day as the offense couldn't stretch the field.
Perriman has not practiced since suffering the injury and is not expected to play on Sunday in Oakland.
