Philip Rivers' next touchdown pass will put him alone atop Chargers' quarterbacking lore.

It'll be No. 255 -- one throw ahead of team legend Dan Fouts for the most team touchdown tosses, all-time.

Rivers has reached the mark in less time, too. He's played 11 seasons in America's Finest City. Fouts only had 14 before he retired in 1987.

"We all know how much respect I have for Dan Fouts, and everybody does," Rivers told Ricky Henne of Chargers.com. "He's a Hall of Famer and he's a legend here with the Chargers. I think it's something you look back on later and really, really appreciate it."

That's the way people will look back on Rivers' tenure in San Diego -- especially if he delivers them something Fouts never did: a Super Bowl title.
