The Ravens' first go-round with new offensive coordinator Marc Trestman looked nothing like it did under their last one, who just happened to be on the opposing sideline.

Baltimore finished with 173 yards of offense, with just 38 coming over five drives in the first half. The fact that the Ravens almost were able to pull the rug out from under Gary Kubiak's Broncos in the final minute speaks to how well the defense played.

Flacco, who tossed for a career-high 3,986 yards with Kubiak as his playcaller last season, finished the game with just 117 yards passing with a pair of interceptions, one of which was returned 51 yards for a touchdown.

"We really didn't do anything the whole game," Flacco said via the team's official website. "We've got a lot to work on, obviously. We're a lot better than that."

Flacco was under duress all game as Broncos linebackers Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware were able to come hard without the threat of a Ravens rushing attack. While the loss of left tackle Eugene Monroe (concussion) on the opening drive didn't help, Justin Forset managed just 13 yards on eight carries in the first half.

"We've got to spread them out more and not let them pin their ears back and come after us," Flacco said. "I don't think we ever got those guys out of rhythm. They were able to play downhill in the run game and get after the quarterback without any repercussions."

Flacco was also off-target on a few throws, and not having rookie burner Breshad Perriman to replace deep threat Torrey Smith certainly diminished the Ravens' efforts in stretching out the defense. Flacco's longest completion of the days was 22 yards to Marlon Brown, who finished as the team's leading receiver with two catches for 25 yards.

Despite the offensive woes, Flacco still had two cracks at the end zone in the final minute. Steve Smith Sr. had a floater go off his fingertips while Crockett Gilllmore failed to pull a floater from Flacco in tight coverage, the ball deflecting into the hands of ex-Raven Darian Stewart.

"A pretty poor showing, but you got to keep your head up and you got to move on quick because in this league the next one comes up on top of you like that, so we've just got to make sure we stay confident and bounce back as soon as possible," Flacco said
