Starting defensive end Carl Lawson and safety Tray Matthews both did not suit up during Auburn's contest versus Jacksonville State. Lawson was seen using crutches on the sidelines.

Lawson had suffered a hip flexor injury in the victory over Louisville. Matthews also was plagued with a shoulder problem.

Lawson's absence is particularly troubling. He's easily the most talented member of a good Auburn front four. With a big game at LSU looming next week, getting Lawson healthy will be imperative for the Tigers.
