PITTSBURGH (AP) Pittsburgh Steelers rookies Tyler Murphy and Anthony Chickillo are trying to learn the NFL and a new position at the same time.

Murphy played quarterback at Florida and Boston College but moved to wide receiver when the Steelers signed him as an undrafted free agent. Chickillo was a defensive end at Miami but is transitioning to outside linebacker in Pittsburgh.

Murphy says he still thinks he is a quarterback but understands he needs to be versatile. He caught a touchdown pass in last Sunday's exhibition win over Green Bay.

Defensive coordinator Keith Butler praised Chickillo's ability but says it could take several years for him to get comfortable at linebacker.

The Steelers play at Buffalo on Saturday.
