SEATTLE (AP) Pete Carroll paid a price for the Seattle Seahawks first touchdown of the preseason.

Carroll collided with field judge Eugene Hall on Tyler Lockett's 103-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the second quarter of the Seahawks preseason opener against Denver on Friday night.

Hall was running along the Seattle sideline and trying to keep up with Lockett. Carroll was standing on the white-painted section of the sideline and saw Hall running at the last second. The two collided and Carroll was sent sprawling to the ground, while Hall was able to keep his balance and throw his flag as he kept running.

Carroll was penalized for sideline interference. Players, including Doug Baldwin, jokingly called for trainers to come check on Carroll on the sideline after the ensuing extra point.
