Jaye Howard will get an early head start on a nearly impossible task.

The Chiefs' defensive lineman has been tabbed to fill in for Dontari Poe at nose tackle for the preseason opener against Arizona. The team released its first depth chart over the weekend.

At 6-foot-3 and over 300 pounds, Howard is a large enough defender to play the position. But his predecessor, Poe, was otherworldly at the spot. The Chiefs should expect a downgrade no matter what.
