Fort Myers, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Minnesota Twins have signed second baseman Brian Dozier to a four-year contract worth $20 million.

Dozier's new deal will carry him through 2018 and buys out his remaining three years of salary arbitration. He will earn $2 million this season and $3 million in 2016 before a raise to $6 million in 2017 and $9 million in 2018.

The 27-year-old native of Mississippi batted .242 with 23 homers, 33 doubles, 71 RBI, 21 stolen bases and 112 runs scored in 156 games last season. He became the third Twin to hit at least 20 homers, steal 20 bases and score 100 runs, joining Kirby Puckett (1986) and Corey Koskie (2001).

Dozier broke into the majors in 2012 and owns a career .241 batting average with 47 homers, 77 doubles and 170 RBI in 387 big league games.
