Hill, No. 6 Texas A&M rout SMU

Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Kenny Hill threw for 265 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the first half and No. 6 Texas A&M routed SMU, 58-6, on Saturday afternoon.

Hill was 16-of-22 and added 57 yards on the ground and Trey Williams carried the ball seven times for 66 yards and two scores for the Aggies (4-0), who are off to their first 4-0 start since 2006.

The sensational sophomore Hill, who took over for 2012 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel as Texas A&M's starting quarterback this season, has 13 touchdown passes and just one interception so far this year.

"I think I've come along all right. I've had moments where I haven't done too well, but I've had moments that I've done great. I think I just need to be more consistent," Hill said.

Texas A&M outgained the Mustangs 663-241.

Jeremy Tabuyo caught two passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns, Malcome Kennedy hauled in six passes for 76 yards and James White tallied 64 yards and a score on seven totes in the triumph.

Garrett Krstich completed 13-of-24 passes for 137 yards for SMU (0-3), which played its first game under interim head coach and defensive coordinator Tom Mason. June Jones stepped down as head coach last week due to personal reasons.

The Aggies raced out to a 38-3 halftime lead and never looked back.

Hill fired a 38-yard completion to Kennedy on a 3rd-and-13 on Texas A&M's opening series, which led to a Josh Lambo 39-yard field goal.

Hill tossed his first interception of the year on the Aggies' next touch, but they responded by scoring touchdowns on their next five possessions to close the opening half.

After SMU went three-and-out following the pick, Hill took off for a 58-yard run before Williams concluded the brisk 4-play, 76-yard drive with an 8-yard TD run.

Hill hit Tabuyo for a 30-yard score to make it 17-0 late in the first.

Hill's 20-yard completion to Ricky Seals-Jones set up Williams' 5-yard TD plunge on Texas A&M's ensuing sequence and Brandon Williams' 10-yard TD run staked the Aggies to a healthy 31-0 cushion.

SMU proceeded to take 7:50 off the clock on a 15-play, 53-yard march, but settled for a 29-yard Cody Rademacher field goal. The Mustangs picked up four first downs on the drive after failing to record one prior to the series.

The Mustangs then recovered an onsides kick, but failed to move the chains before punting the ball back to the Aggies. Hill then lofted a 70-yard TD pass to a wide-open Josh Reynolds along the right sideline a snap later to give Texas A&M its 38-3 advantage heading into the break.

Lambo split the uprights from 50 yards out and Kyle Allen tossed a 50-yard score to Tabuyo in the third quarter to make it 48-3.

Lambo and Rademacher kicked field goals of 24 and 37 yards, respectively, during the first half of the fourth quarter and White's 8-yard TD run late in the stanza capped the scoring.
