Chuckie Looney threw two touchdown passes and Marist won its third straight game for the first time since 2009 with a 37-0 victory over Valparaiso on Saturday.

The Red Foxes (3-2, 2-0) are off their first 2-0 start in the Pioneer League, while also posting their first shutout since 2009, which also came against the Crusaders (1-4, 1-1).

Atiq Lucas scored from a yard out, and Paul Sakowski returned a fumble for another for a 14-0 first-quarter lead.

Looney extended his school career record for TD passes to 39 with throws to Bartley Leneghan and David Diomede. Looney, who was 11-of-15 passing for 188 yards, also became the career leader for passing yards with 4,874.

Marist shut down Valparaiso quarterback Eric Hoffman, who was the league's TD passing leader coming into the game. Hoffman threw for only 127 yards with two interceptions. The Crusaders managed only 169 yards offense.
