Foxborough, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The New England Patriots signed wide receiver Austin Collie on Thursday.

The injury-plagued Collie joins an already banged-up Patriots receiving corps, which featured six players on Wednesday's injury report.

Collie, 27, spent some time in training camp with San Francisco. He has dealt with concussion problems in the past and his 2012 campaign came to end because of a torn patellar tendon in Week 3.

The BYU product has caught 173 passes for 1,845 yards and 16 touchdowns in 42 career games with Indianapolis. The Colts selected Collie in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

The Patriots also placed injured defensive lineman Vince Wilfork on injured reserve and released tight end Zach Sudfeld.
