Texas high school football game ends in fabulous fashion

The final moments of a Texas high school football game turned into a breathless affair when a squib kick led to a touchdown return.

With just 3:39 left in the game between A&M Consolidated and Copperas Cove, both teams combined for 44 points, reports.

With just 1 second left to play, Copperas Cove took a 41-38 lead with a field goal. Copperas head coach Jack Welch called for a squib kick to run out the clock, but it didn't go as planned.

Instead, A&M Consolidated players zigged and zagged, using lateral passes until junior Derrick Dick found an opening and scored, defeating Copperas Cove, 44-41.

Copperas Cove quarterback Manny Harris shattered a school record held by NFL star Robert Griffin III — most passing yards in a game (293), the website reports. Harris completed 34 of 51 passes for 516 yards and four touchdowns.
