The Boston Red Sox recalled pitcher Rubby De La Rosa from Triple-A Pawtucket Friday and optioned pitcher Alex Wilson to Pawtucket after Thursday night's game.

De La Rosa will be making his first big league stint with the Red Sox after going 4-5 with a 3.96 earned run average over 14 appearances with the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2011-12.

The 24-year-old right-hander was acquired from the Dodgers during the nine-player deal last August that sent pitcher Josh Beckett, first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, outfielder Carl Crawford, infielder Nick Punto and cash considerations to Los Angeles.

Wilson was recalled from Pawtucket on Thursday and allowed the game- winning run in Boston's 13-inning loss to the Baltimore Orioles.

Over 17 games in the majors, all with the Red Sox this season, Wilson is 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA.
