2012 World Series MVP Pablo Sandoval will be sidelined at least two weeks with a nagging left foot strain, with the San Francisco Giants placing the third baseman on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

Sandoval initially hurt his foot during a matchup against Oakland on May 30 and sat out the Giants' entire three-game series at St. Louis before returning to action on June 4. He then exited Saturday's 10-5 win over Arizona in the fourth inning after aggravating the injury and did not play the following day.

The stocky switch-hitter has batted .289 with eight home runs and 37 RBI in 57 games this season and is currently the National League's leading vote-getter at third base in the latest All-Star balloting.

San Francisco recalled infielder Nick Noonan from Triple-A Fresno in a corresponding move. The former supplemental first-round pick has spent the majority of the season on the major league roster, but was sent to the minors last week after hitting just .203 with three RBI in 59 at-bats.
