The New York Jets signed running back Chris Ivory to a three-year contract extension on Monday.

The Jets acquired the 25-year-old Ivory in a trade with New Orleans during last week's NFL Draft.

Ivory has totaled 1,307 yards and eight touchdowns on 256 carries in 24 career games with the Saints, who signed the Tiffin product as an undrafted free agent in 2010.

The Jets also signed free-agent guard Stephen Peterman. Originally a third- round selection by Dallas in 2004, Peterman started 86 of 90 games played with the Detroit Lions over the last seven seasons.
