The San Francisco Giants activated infielder Aubrey Huff and pitchers Shane Loux and Brad Penny from the 15-day disabled list on Saturday.

The Giants also recalled infielder Brett Pill from Triple-A Fresno and purchased the contracts of pitcher Jean Machi and outfielder Xavier Nady from Fresno on the first day for roster expansion.

Huff (right knee) owns a .148 average with one home run and six RBI in 34 games for the Giants this year. Penny (shoulder) was 0-1 with a 6.86 ERA and Loux (neck) had no record with a 5.66 ERA for the Giants before they sustained their respective injuries.

Nady started the season with the Nationals and hit .157 with three home runs and six RBI in 40 games before being designated for assignment in late June.

Pill is batting .222 with four home runs and 11 RBI in 43 games for San Francisco this season.

Machi went 2-1 with a 3.97 ERA and 15 saves in 53 appearances for Fresno this year.

To make room for Machi and Nady on the 40-man roster, the Giants transferred infielder Freddy Sanchez to the 60-day DL.
