Spencer Dixon scored 24 points and Kelvin McConnell added 23 to lead Kennesaw State over South Carolina-Upstate 78-71 on Monday night.

The Owls (3-10, 1-2 Atlantic Sun Conference) snapped a 10-game losing streak thanks to a 50.9-percent shooting effort (28 of 55).

Markeith Cummings scored 16 points and Aaron Anderson grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds for Kennesaw State.

A 3-pointer from Torrey Craig pulled the Spartans within five, 76-71, with 16 seconds left to play, but it wasn't enough as Dixon nailed two free throws to seal the victory for Kennesaw State.

Craig scored 25 points to lead USC-Upstate (2-11, 1-2), which has lost five consecutive games. Babatund Olumuyiwa added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

The Owls never trailed after the 19:23 mark of the second half and led by as many as 11, 73-62, with 1:30 to go.
