Martha MacCallum, Co-Host:Does Harry Reid have the right to deal with any of this at all, given this appointment by a sitting governor?

I think his actions are, on the face of it, quite lawless. And I think, in time, we'll hear that from the various courts. And, if I were Harry Reid, I suspect that he and his cohorts are looking desperately for an exit strategy here. Obviously, the action was not racist, there was no intent. And had the appointment been someone who was white, we would have had the same result. -- The barring at the door of the Senate. But the fact is that he is African-American, he does have a long history in Illinois, and this really is politically unbelievably stupid on the part of Democrats. So, I think it's only a question of time. Burris IS going to end up in the Senate.
