      Did anyone catch the drama that unfolded in the 8pm hour last night? What a cluster. Not only did Congress adjourn without action on the fiscal cliff. A so-called "plan B" had to be pulled from the House floor when it was clear the GOP didn't have the votes to pass their own bill. Then they adjourned through Christmas!?

      Immediately Dow futures plunged. Markets sold off worldwide. It could be a bad day on Wall Street.

      President Obama and Senate Democrats pledged to keep trying to find a solution... though it is not clear what can be done with the House.

      Catherine Herridge looks ahead to the testimony of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton after a scathing report on State Department failures on Benghazi. Meanwhile, we hear from an outspoken group of U.S. Republican Senators today in the Noon hour. Should be interesting television.

      Blizzards and heavy rains have come to a wide swath of the nation. Shutting down airports and making for treacherous travel on some of the busiest travel days of the year. Mike Tobin reporting from Chicago where many flights have been cancelled. Janice Dean and Rick Reichmuth tell us when this all blows away. One note: this has been the warmest fall ever recorded after the second worst drought in U.S. history, so the snow and rain is needed!

      The NRA today breaks its silence on the massacre in Newtown, CT. There are seven more funerals or services today for victims. This morning CT Governor Malloy has asked for a moment of silence at 9:30 and a "day of mourning." Houses of worship will ring bells 26 times to honor those killed a week ago today.

      0930EST -- CT Gov Malloy signed a proclamation declaring today a "Day of Mourning" in the State of Connecticut and requesting that residents statewide participate in a moment of silence.

      The Governor is also requesting houses of worship and govt bldgs that have the capability to ring bells 26 times during that moment in honor of each life that was taken at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Gov Malloy will observe the moment of silence at the Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, CT. WTIC LIVE

      Also - in case you didn't notice, the world did not come to an end. The Mayan calendar ended this morning at 6:11 a.m. The was when some feared the apocalypse would be upon us.

      Not so much. So get to work!
