Sorry to spoil the surprise, royal staffers, but you’re getting chocolate cake for Christmas.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip are planning to gift their royal workforce with a pre-made “Christmas pudding” from British grocery chain Tesco, according to reports from Hello Magazine and Business Insider. The royals will allegedly be giving out hundreds upon hundreds of Tesco’s Finest Christmas Puddings, which retail for 8 pounds each, or a little under $11.

It’s actually somewhat of a tradition for the queen to hand out the Christmas puddings — basically a dense steamed cake — as Christmas gifts, though they weren’t always from Tesco, Hello reports. Long ago, the Christmas treats were provided by high-end, London-based department stores Harrods, or Fortnum & Mason.

Queen Elizabeth’s grandfather, King George V, is credited with starting the tradition of doling out Christmas desserts, The Independent reports.

In addition to the puddings, certain longtime staffers will also be presented with vouchers in recognition of their hard work.

As for Queen Elizabeth herself, she and her family will be spending Christmas together at her Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, where they’ll likely be enjoying roast turkey and a chocolate Yule log, a former royal chef tells Hello.

Prince Harry’s fiancée, Meghan Markle, will also be joining the festivities this year, Kensington Palace confirmed, although they neglected if she, too, will score a Tesco Christmas Pudding, or whether the royal pastry chefs will prepare a banana-flavored cake in her honor.
