ABC pulls episode of 'The Proposal' following serious allegations against contestant

ABC has pulled the second episode of the reality television show “The Proposal” after a woman came forward alleging one of the program’s contestants "was directly responsible for my date rape."

Erica Denae Meshke of Milwaukee, Wis., wrote on her personal Facebook page that one of the show’s contestants helped facilitate her sexual assault in November 2017. At first, she did not mention the contestant in question, but she later added a screenshot of contestant Michael J. Friday's Instagram account in the comments section under the post.

“This guy just keeps getting creepier,” Meshke wrote along with a screenshot of Friday’s Instagram page.

It was not immediately clear if Meshke filed a police report regarding the incident. Friday has not immediately commented on the allegations.

Meshke wrote that she met Friday on Tinder and the two planned a date. Friday invited her to meet in the lobby of an apartment complex.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE GOES PUBLIC WITH RUMORED BOYFRIEND COOKE MARONEY

“When I arrived, it was just him and two other 50ish-year-old men whom he referred to as his ‘friends.’ They poured me a drink, and then I was left alone with the two older men. The original guy never came back, despite me calling and texting. I was told by his friends that he would be back soon. So while I waited, I accepted another drink, which I know now was spiked,” she wrote.

Meshke then said she was led upstairs to an apartment by one of the older men where she was allegedly assaulted.

“The things I endured for the next 5 hours were unspeakable," she explained.

The woman said she was threatened to stay quiet about the incident and only told her friends and posted in a Facebook group anonymously about the alleged rape. She said she ran into Friday in public later and confronted him, but she claims he defended what he did.

Meshke concluded her post by asking social media users to boycott the show.

ABC and Warner Horizon Productions told Fox News in a statement that the studios are taking the allegations “very seriously.”

“An allegation has been made against a contestant on next week’s episode of 'The Proposal.' While the accusation was not related to the contestant’s appearance on the program, we take it very seriously. ABC and the producers of 'The Proposal' are pulling the episode while this matter is under review," the statement read.

Friday was eliminated in the show’s first round.

“The Proposal” is a dating show, from the creators of "The Bachelor," where a woman or man is introduced to 10 contestants trying to win them over. The contestants go through four rounds until the person chooses who they want to approach with a "romantic proposal of their choice."
