Charlie Daniels has his own idea for what "sanctuary cities" should like look.
The outspoken country music legend proposed cities become "a sanctuary for the unborn."
"How about some cities declaring themselves a sanctuary for the unborn and refuse to abide by the federal laws allowing abortion," Daniels tweeted Thursday.
The 80-year-old's tweet was in response to several large cities across the country's decision to shield illegal immigrants from deportation.
The "Devil Went Down to Georgia" singer has long-been vocal about his pro-life views.
He wrote an essay about abortion on his website in 2013.
"Yes God knows us in every stage of our lives from conception to death and only He has the right to decide when His creations leave this life."
Daniels most recently wrote about his upcoming memoir on his website.
"Accepting that soon what I have written will be available for all to read I wanted to be totally truthful, honestly conveying the ups, downs and sideways of my life as cogently as possible," he wrote March 27.
"[I want to write a] clear and precise account of the life of a chubby, far sighted Tar Heel kid whose been showered with God's blessings and protection and has lived a life he didn't even have the imagination to dream about when he first cut the apron strings and walked out into a world he knew very little about."
