New details about Jenni Rivera’s death have emerged after her death certificate was made public, People en Español is reporting.

The document, issued by the Monterrey jurisdiction in Mexico, states that the Mexican-American singer died from severe trauma and injury to the head, thorax and abdomen.

Rivera and several members of her entourage died in early December after the jet they were on malfunctioned, plummeting 28,000 miles into the mountains in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

Thousands of fans attended the singer’s funeral service at Long Beach’s Gibson Theater in Los Angeles. The ticketed event was televised by most news networks. A few days later, Rivera’s body was transferred over to the All Souls cemetery in Long Beach.

Rivera was in the "final stages" of purchasing the plane she eventually died in.
