From an inopportune rain at the White House's Rose Garden to an Indian holy man self-flagellating himself during a procession, take a look at some of the most captivating images captured in the past seven days around the world.

TAMPA - New video shows the moment a South Florida man captured the largest Burmese python in Florida history.

Jason Leon hauled in the 18-foot, 8-inch giant in south Miami-Dade on May 11. The video shows Leon and his friends getting out of an ATV after seeing the massive snake.

It was sticking out of some nearby brush as they rode by. Leon decided to grab it.

He said the monster python wrapped around his legs and squeezed, so his friends stepped in and killed it with a knife.

The snake has now been turned over to the University of Florida Research and Education Center.
