Aerial video captured a massive train bridge engulfed in flames outside the Canadian city of Edmonton Tuesday as police investigated whether somebody set the fire on purpose.

A giant plume of black and grey smoke poured from the burning bridge in Mayerthorpe. There were no reports of anybody hurt.

Firefighters told CBC they were investigating as many as 17 different fires in the area over the past week. They say this particular fire apparently started at the base of the bridge.

Mayerthorpe fire chief Randy Schroeder said the fire could lead to extensive delays in the transport of oil and lumber in the area.

"There's some pillars from the truss still standing up, but for the rest of it, it's just all fallen down," witness Quinn White told the news agency.
