U.S. Embassy in Kabul Sounds Attack Warning Alarm

KABUL – The US embassy in Kabul sounded its warning alarm Tuesday, alerting its staff to a possible attack.

The alert was not a drill, and staff had taken cover, Reuters news agency reported. No gunfire or explosions were reported.

The warning comes a week after an attack by insurgents targeted the US compound and NATO's headquarters in the Afghan capital.
