KFOX14 El Paso interviews the parents of Sergio Adrian Hernández Guereca, the 15-year-old Mexican boy allegedly shot on June 7 on the bed of the Rio Grande near El Paso.

The family is suing the U.S. Border Patrol for wrongful death and civil rights violations in the death of their son. They are seeking $25 million in damages from the U.S. government.

The lawsuit alleges that a Border Patrol agent shot Hernández on June 7 while trying to arrest people crossing illegally into the United States.

According to the lawsuit, FBI spokeswoman Andrea Simmons has said a group of people on the Mexican side were throwing rocks at agents. Agents are generally permitted to use lethal force against rock throwers.
