A woman and two children were wounded in a stabbing attack in a Los Angeles suburb on Sunday and a suspect was in custody.
The attack occurred in Panorama City at around 1 p.m., Los Angeles police spokesman Irma Tobias said. She added that police were still investigating the incident.
Police said the victims were transported to local hospitals. The woman was in critical condition, CBS Los Angeles reported. But the children’s conditions weren’t immediately released.
The suspect was identified as George Gomez, 21. Gomez stabbed his on-again-off-again girlfriend, her 3-year-old sister and and a 3-month-old.
Gomez then led police on a chase into Glendale and eventually surrendered after a four-hour standoff.
The man wasn’t immediately identified. CBS Los Angeles reported the man is believed to have had a relationship with one of the victims.
