A Down syndrome teen who is the water boy for his high school football team ran for a touchdown for his terminally ill mother.

Senior Robby Heil scored the touchdown for Novi High School Friday night and his mother couldn’t have been prouder, Fox 2 Detroit reports.

"I presently have cancer and this team has just been so instrumental in helping me get him to practice while I'm at chemo and it takes a village to raise my son and this village has been really outstanding," Debbie Heil told the station.

Novi was playing South Lyon East. The play was a special one just for Robbie that had no bearing on the final score.

“He brings that infectious enthusiasm that our kids love,’ Novi head coach Jeff Burnside told Fox 2. “No matter how bad a day he’s having, it’s always a smile from ear to ear. And an opportunity to put that helmet on tonight, I mean it brought tears to my eyes.”

The crowd cheered “We love Robby” after the touchdown.

“It makes me feel happy,” Robby told the station.

Novi won the game.
