Every morning without fail, 17-year-old Anthony Gargiula says he gets a text message from his grandparents, showing their matching outfits.

In fact, he said Ed and Fran Gargiula have showed off their matching clothes every day for 18 months. They started about 10 years ago when they went square dancing. Last year, the teen said his grandparents arrived to watch him sing in Florida -- and brought the entire square dancing troupe, everybody clad in orange.

His grandparents have been married for 52 years.

“They always had dances on Saturday nights. They’d go to church before the square dances, and if they we weren’t matching everyone would ask, ‘Where are your matching outfits?’ My mom thought they should just match every day so people get a chuckle out of it,” the teen told ABC News.

He tweeted out a few of their photos, which quickly became a big hit on social media this week.

His dad, Rich, told ABC the outfits actually served another purpose. “My son is a performer and when my parents would go, they’d make sure to wear very vibrant, matching outfits so he could see them from the stage.”
