SAN DIEGO – The Latest on killings of two homeless men in San Diego (times local):
2:30 p.m.
San Diego police say a homeless man suffered extensive trauma to his upper torso and died before his body was set on fire.
Police on Tuesday identified him as 53-year-old Angelo De Nardo, who had family in Pennsylvania. His badly burned body was found Sunday between Interstate 5 and some train tracks.
Authorities are searching for a person of interest connected to the killings of De Nardo and another homeless and a serious injury to a third homeless person since Sunday. They have not said how the incidents may be connected.

San Diego police are searching for a man suspected of killing two homeless men and stabbing a third in a series of attacks over the weekend.
The Union-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/29jFfLK ) that the unidentified suspect is linked to a burned body found Sunday under a highway and a body discovered Monday a few miles away.
Authorities say the man was seen running from the area near the fire. Early the next day, police found a homeless man with serious stab wounds at an intersection. He was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
A few hours later, officers discovered the second body.
Police released grainy images of the suspect taken from a convenience store camera and sought help identifying him. They describe him as 30 to 50 years old, wearing a hat and carrying a backpack.
