Four Massachusetts men are heading to prison after pleading guilty to using a blowtorch during an attack on a man trying to collect $300 he was owed.

The Enterprise (http://bit.ly/27Rj5HG ) reports that the defendants pleaded guilty Monday to charges including aggravated assault and were each sentenced to four years in prison. They were Filomeno Monteiro, Manuel Monteiro, and Jason Ribeiro, all of Brockton, and Michael Pires, of Rockland.

Prosecutors say the October 2011 attack took place when the victim went to the Brockton apartment to collect from a man who had hired him to do some painting.

The victim was jumped by a group of men who beat and kicked him, bound him with duct tape, and used a blowtorch to burn his back.

Two more defendants are scheduled to appear in court June 6.
