Students at in a Texas high school surprised their grieving teacher with kittens after they learned that their beloved teacher’s favorite cat had just died.

The students at Joshua High School were moved when they noticed that their teacher, Tonya Andrews, was sobbing during class. They asked what was wrong, and Andrews replied that her 16-year-old cat had died.

A mother at the school came up with an idea that students should find a few kittens in Fort Worth in need of a home and present them to Andrews, ABC News reported. The students agreed and gave the kittens to their teacher.

She was moved to tears. “Are they mine?” Andrews asked.

The students captured the moment on video and posted it to Twitter.
